got '40s on my mustang, deep rumble, louder on WOT. providing your muffler is further away from the cab and your dumping out past the back tire, and didnt remove any insulation in the cab, the '40s will be perfect. '40 Thunder Series though, will be loud. check my link on page 59, near the bottom.
hope this helps!

I don't think they would be to loud. They could be though if you wanted the kids to sleep in the car. At cruising speed you can hear them but it is a little quiter in the cab. I have the on my 2012 fx4 5.0. If your worried about it being to loud look into magna flow they are typically a little quiter but still have a good sound

Default I NEED HELP W MY FLOWMASTER 40 vs changing to magnaflow

I have a 2013 Fx2 5.0L. I put on a Flowmaster 40 and left the resonator on. Sound is great but drone is bad. I dont want an extremely loud truck. I just want a good rumble without a lot of cabin noise.
I was tempted to go get an 89.00 magnaflow and swap out this flowmaster and leave on the resonator still and see if that helps with the drone. Will this be too quiet ? Has anyone had this set up with resonator?

Let me know.
Thanks!

Default Flowmaster alignment

I recently installed the Flowmaster American Thunder catback on my 2010 Lariat 5.4. Sounds incredible, but I am having a hard time getting the drivers side adjusted to look right/equal to the passengers side. Any tips?

I have a 2012 fx4 with 5.0 in it and I had shopped around for a while trying to find an exhaust that the tone had a real nice deep tone too it so I went with the MBRP 2.5" dual side exit full stainless because of the salt up here wanted the added protection. It is 3" from y-pipe into the resonator and out at 3" into muffler where it comes out at dual 2.5" with a 3.5" tip coming out on each side of the truck behind the tires. I would recommend this exhaust cause the sound is real deep and the only time there is a drone is around like 1900 RPM but then goes away quickly after that.

Listen to Borla Exhaust by your F-150 engine.

Link - F-150 Exhaust - Select your Engine

In one video, compare all exhaust models for your engine whether you have a 5.0L, Ecoboost, or 6.2L. Videos are only for those engines. Products listed are only 09-13 F-150's.

I have a 2013 5.0 and pit a flowmaster 50 series on and the Drone starts at 1500 RPM and is horrible. No money to be playing around to get rid of drone so going bnack to stock next week.

Most aftermarket exhausts will have some drone, cheaper systems more so. If you want a more aggressive exhaust then you have to make a sacrifice or stick to stock which is designed to be as quite as possible.
