My 97 F150 4.6 has a Gibson cat back SISO system on it. 3 inch pipe I think. Exit behind tire. It was on it when I bought it, so I don't know how much difference it made performance wise, but I like the sound. I wish it was a little louder when I get on it, but for long trips it's great. No drone, but a little growl when you get on it to remind you that it's there.

My 91 F250 7.5 has a muffler shop cat back system. 3 inch from the cat to a Vortex SIDO muffler, 2 1/2 pipes out the back with 2 1/2 SS straight tips.
Gained about 1MPG, but noticed no performance difference. Then again it's a 6100lb truck.....
Sounds good on cruise, not really loud. It has a real nice resonance at about 1500 rpm, but it actually gets a little quieter at WOT....kind of wierd.

It's lots of fun in parking garages (the few that I can get into) and tunnels.

86 302 melatone SIDO 2.5 inch pipe, it has a nice sound at certain rpms, close to a stock gt mustang with the 302. But at other rpms you can't hear it in the cab at all. Sounds the best when its in a gear and you just do touch the gas, just enough to keep it moving and when you let off to shift.

Finally updating after I put my Borla on. It looks and sounds amazing. Only a little louder than stock in the cab, no drone. This thing only gets loud when I want it to (accelerating).

Are the dual pipes worth it?

'90 F150 300- Flowmaster 50 series

I didn't notice any differance. But then again I did not expect much from a 300 six exhaust.

'89 Bronco 302- 3 way cat and a straight pipe.

It sounds absolutely awesome. Much better sound than a Flowmaster in my opinion. No droan in the cab either.

Soon I plan to custom bend true duals with a 3 way cat on each pipe. I also plan to put flanges so I can bolt and unbolt the cats and muffler for when I go off roading. I also want 2 inch tubing instead of the 2 1/4 thats on it now.

Tomorrow the mods begin.... I will put either a Magna Flow or Flowmaster SIDO on (after I listen to them both). Saturday I tint the front windows, order the CAI and the Tonneau cover. All thats left it the Tuner. I'm leaning towards the SCT or the Hypertech. I'm a little concerned about the SCT and what it cvould possibly do to the trans.

I have an 09 Lariat Crewcab, 5.4L. Razer Red Two Tone 20" wheels, pwr everything. The bed has a ProCote liner.
