Never been a big fan of flowmaster. I have a 2010 fx2 5.4
I wanted something clean and not too loud so I went with a single in dual out magnaflow same side exit like the stock tip is. I have stainless steel magnaflow tips I think they are 4in tips. Cant be any happier. Goes great with my K&N. Have a pair of pacesetter long tubes just laying around. Need to put those on but haven't got around to it yet.

I put flowmaster 40 series on a 5.0L fx2 and left the resonator on and it sounds fantastic.

Just installed the borla atak. It sounds amazing exactly as advertised mean sound and zero drone. Looks great too.

That sounds pretty sweet. I like it. I have a magna flow on mine. But I think yours sounds better.

Yeah sound is subjective some think it's too loud etc. Main thing is to really check it out the sound in real life if possible of your system since you'll be stuck with it for some time. In the case of Borla the life of the truck some of the cheaper ones in Canada for example will rust out due to our winter road conditions.


Roush makes a nice sound catback too.

I ordered a stainless Gibson Super truck last Thursday and just got it today. I ordered it on Canadian Parts on Line and saved a pile.

I got this system basically for the ease of installation.

Put a 40 series flowmaster on a week ago 2013 FX2 5.0L and the sound is great but I was warned of drone in the cabin. They who warned were right. It's bad and being that I'm not 18 I will be removing it and putting a magnaflow on. Lesson learned. I just hope the magnaflow has the same rumble w out the hwy drone.

Ranchero (black): Flowmaster Thunder 40 series. the thunders are WAAAAAAAY more aggressive than just the regular 40s

* [MENTION=133272]CRFrizzell[/MENTION]: the drone is God-awful in that ranchero. for some reason, the Mustang is kinda quiet inside until i get on it. but yes, the drone is awful. I had a magnaflow catback setup on a 2000 SVT i had, sounded sexy but the drone was there also, not quite as bad tho.

I have a 2013 FX2 5.0L and I left my resonator on and slapped on a 40 series Flowmaster. Sounds great but the drone can be bad when you let off the accelerator in the cab. Its a little annoying. I was told that Magnaflow will not drone but i will lose a lot of sound if I go that route. I found a offset magnaflow at Autozone for 89.00 and the muffler shop said theyd slap that in for me fore free. Anyone have a magnaflow with a resonator and think it sounds beefy at all? Thanks!
