if you think about it, one 20" single row or double row LED light bar mounted in that opening on the bumper will not block any more air to the inter-cooler than having the license plate mounted there instead. It's not gonna hurt your truck

Sherwood, Ecoboost don't come with center license plate mount for that specific reason. but the guy at my local shop said they mount 40" inside the grill and also a 20" single in the middle on the intercooler spot. air still goes over top and bottom of the light. they also designed 2x2 in the fog light holes with a finishing trim to fill the hole. contact BulletProof Bumpers in Red Deer, AB, Canada. they are engineering multiple parts for trucks, including the famous bulletproof mudflaps and also Security locks for LED light bars that prevent people from just walking up to your truck and taking your expensive lights.

wow, thanks for the heads up. I had no idea the place existed, and right outside the city. I'm still working out my light situation. I just got my hood mount brackets from alternative offroad, but im not so sure I'm gonna like having the 6" KC lights up there. Worried about wind noise, and it just being ugly too haha. That being said, I don't want all LED's. Despite the hype they don't throw a beam as far as halogens or HID's. Thinking a light bar or bull bar for the KC's and something like Ridgid Dually D2's (or a cheaper alternative) on the hood mounts for lighting up the shoulders. Decisions...

I'll definitely check out that shop though

I just mounted a 12" led bar in front of my intercooler on my 2013 ecoboost. A local shop made a prototype of some simple brackets that work pretty well if you're interested I can get you the guys info. Just pm me.

I was going to do that originally but went this route so I could have it sitting back in the bumper instead of sticking out the front. And didn't have to drill any holes to mount it.
