Default Useless arm rest in 2013 extended cab

Is there an aftermarket replacement for this. It is huge and has a useless small storage tray on the bottom. I would like a more functional one with a thin lid and the rest for storage.

Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the exact same thought. Disappointed in the storage. Have had vehicles in the past with huge console storage boxes. I haven't investigated but will post if I come across anything.

Y'all must have the jumper seat.

My console is like a black hole, endless DEEP cavern where dreams are lost.

P.S. Wrong forum.

I spent a little time looking but didn't really turn up anything aftermarket but did find that swapping in a factory console seems to be the most popular. A little expensive but if it is what you want e-bay seems to have some. Also found this post https://www.f150forum.com/f38/middle...e-swap-146672/ that has some good info. I found the color I needed right away and ordered it.

I am guessing you have an XL or STX model with the jump seat and the storage UNDER the lower seat cushion? if so you have 2 options.
#1: you can swap in a factory jump seat from an XLT model, because they still have the lower seat storage, but they also have storage in the upper armrest part AND they have cup holders up top too. this was the option I went with. mainly because I have a regular cab and I still wanted the option of a 3rd seat if the need arose, which it has on a few occasions. this was also the cheaper of the 2 options.
#2: you can swap in a factory center console from another truck. this a much nicer option and it adds A LOT of storage space. the problem is you cant buy a complete console from ford. but they are in HIGH demand, and most of the people who have them prefer them so they arent looking to trade. there are so few people looking to get rid of them, that when one does come available, the seller either asks a fortune, or its sold immediately.

I have heard that 04-08 consoles will fit with very minor mods (either drilling new holes in console, or making existing holes bigger). but I have no first hand experience so I can not confirm or deny the ease of install.

MPETE - yes I have an STX with the jump seat. As I have a SCAB I don't need the seat but want the storage. I guess I never considered your first option but it is a great one. I did find the right color combination and have it coming. Yes they are in demand so we know what that does to price. I paid $340 delivered off of e-bay. A new one was posted a couple hours after so they must have several. Black and grey.
