Thumbs up Community Build Along Street F-150

Well here it goes, lets make a quick 3.5L Ecoboost for the street/track out of my newly ordered 2016 F-150. All your suggestions and ideas will be taken into consideration and all upgrades and track times will be kept track of in this thread. Money isn't a real issue if there are gains to be made but I will not be swapping out turbos until the warranty mileage is met, that being said I won't shy away from really boosting up the PSI in the OEM turbos.

I am willing to try and dyno/run several different tunes and parts to see the real difference in power for myself and to inform others on maybe making a better decision themselves. I want to have a good time modding and driving this truck

Please keep all upgrade suggestions non-biased and factual, this is not a dick measuring contest between "x" tune and "y" tune or "w" CAI and "z" CAI the dyno/track won't lie and I don't want any arguments in this thread so please keep those thoughts to yourself.

Stock Dyno:
  • Same Dyno will be used for all pulls
  • 306 HP
  • 342 TQ

Here is the Truck we are working with:

Factory Specs:
  • 2016 Sport LE 302A
  • 3.55 Rear with E-Lock Option
  • 3.5L Ecoboost Engine
  • Standard Hitch / No trailer tow for less weight
  • 2WD
  • All parts 100% stock

Planned Upgrades:
  • 93 Octane Performance Tune
  • Offroad Downpipes / Catless
  • Aftermarket Intercooler
  • Cooler Temp Thermostat
  • Cold Air Intake Kit
  • Precision Gapped Plugs
  • Some sort of Leveling/Rear drop
  • Full custom Exhaust
  • Meth/NOS kit possible
  • Large Turbos down the road

Current Modification List:
  • 160° Thermostat
  • K&N Full CAI
  • Regapped Plugs to .28

Current Power/Time Specs:

Coming Soon

I've only got the 2.7L, but I'm very interested to see how this goes! That LE package looks great on white, nice truck!

I am down to read and follow. I am excited to see how far you push this. I just purchased a 15, ecoboost and am looking at SCT TS tunes from 5*, a CAI from injen, and flowmaster super 10. I will let you know once it is all up and running how the performance goes.

The 2.7 is an amazing engine in its own right, and my brother has one that he will be modding up for sure. Thanks for the thoughts on the LE package

Ran it bone stock on my friends shop Dyno and got 306HP/342TQ, time for some upgrades to begin

Started in on mine today, dropped in a 160° thermostat, and K&N sent me a brand new forced air CAI which I also threw on. While I was at it I pulled and regapped all my plugs to .28. Will post some pictures tomorrow.

Will be awesome to hear how your project comes along as well keep me updated!

May be worth cross posting this in the 2015+ forum; if that's permissible?

So I was deployed for work and haven't had any time for the forums or this beauty of a truck. Sadly

I got back home in Oct, its winter here now and I have nothing to do here on the farm other than some truck work. I can finally get this project going, going to start ordering parts today. I got until planting season in April to make this thing fly.

I am sure several of you guys here have modified some 2016+ f150's and I will be looking through the forum to check out on what nice modded trucks you guys have posted. Also, if you have any advice on which way I should go on certain products don't be shy!

Parts on Order:
  • Stainless Downpipes with Hi-Flo cats
  • 1-2" Lowering Shackle
  • SCT and Livernois Tuners
  • Magnaflow Muffler

What I got done so far:
  • K&N Cold Air
  • Replaced 188 tstat for cooler 160 degree
  • Replaced/Gapped all plugs
  • 20% Tint on front/rear doors with 5% strip on front and rear glass
  • Swapped out fluids for what I like to run
  • Truxedo tonneau LoPro cover on bed
Will get some pictures posted of the truck/tint/tonneau once I am able to get it cleaned up currently has snow/salt all over it. Also excited to start adding some more bolt-ons and getting it tuned correctly. Also, looking into changing charge pipes and intercooler but not sure which direction I want to go, if anybody has some advice on this I would happily accept it.

No I just have to play the waiting game for a few days until I have some stuff to tinker with.
