Just put this Roush CAI on and took it for a cruise. Combined with my Flo Pro exhaust (true dual pipes) it makes one of a noise and I love it!!!! It is so deep and the whine at cruising speeds isn't any worse than before but when you wanna wake up all 8 cylinders, IT SCREAMS!!!!
Filter is really dirty, trust me I know, its the first thing I'm cleaning this weekend when I detail my truck.

I haven't read the whole thread but just posting this up here for anyone interested.
I bought a Summit (K & N) CAI for my 2006 F150 FX4 with 5.4 Triton and previously installed Flowmaster exhaust (also from Summit Racing which I love).
This is the kit I purchased: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/su...2/applications
I had a mechanic friend of mine install it so I can't speak to that aspect of it but I'm going to be sending it back in the next couple days. Long and short, it makes a high pitch "whistle" that sounds like a "squeek" at different rpm ranges. I had a friend pedal the throttle and it's coming from the filter element. Checked all the clamps and even rotated the filter element with no improvement.
Some posts I did read on here gave me the "love it or leave it option" and I can honestly say I can't live with it. Just my $ .02.

Have you checked all the connections from throttle body to filter? You might have a small leak or your MAF (mass air flow) sensor might be off whack.
