Best after market upgrade
I recently purchased a 2020 F-150 and the first thing i did was to install a Hellwig #7743 rear sway bar and what a difference it makes in handling and towing. It's night and day and i would recommend it to any one who owns a F-150 no matter what model it is. It's hard to believe that Ford didn't at least offer it as an option. The installation service i received from Hellwig was great and my only complain is that the (8) large washers in the kit have a 1/2" hole in them but it should be a 7/16" hole for a perfect snug fit. It would cost Hellwig a few dollars more as they would have to be custom made for them but this is what set's apart the boys from the man. It would make it a perfect 10 but don't let it stop you from buying it as it's great product and the finest upgrade for the money in my humble opinion. They are other after market rear sway bars out there as well but i am thrilled with the results.

Could you describe the ride difference a bit? I had a 2014 ram that has a sway bar from the factory, then trade up to a new ford that doesn't have one, I can't tell any ride difference driving both back to back.

No swaying side to side, the ability of taking a curve at a higher speed than usual without any sway. It's like getting a new truck when it comes to handling. If you do any towing it will make a dramatic difference. Above all it is a safety issue as better handling means less body roll. If you do it you will not regret it, instead you will be glad you did it. I liked the Hellwig because of no drilling, no welding, easy instructions and great customer support. Chromo Moly steel and 1" thickness also played a role. You will really feel the difference when taking those curves. Get yer done!

What influenced you to want to buy it in the first place? Did your truck wander side to side or roll to much?
I have a 1997 and a 2000 that this might help. I think I'll look into it.

Side to side is "Swaying" and yes it moved side to side. On any vehicle a rear sway bar complete the suspension system. My 68 Oldsmobile as one from the factory and it makes the car handle like a dream (along with the fact that it seats low) . Try one on the 2000 you will see a major difference.

It seats up high in the back (Raked) and it had a lot of side to side "Sway" Try one on the 2000 they are not hard to install just follow the instructions well.

'13 xlt... did the hellwig and bilstein 5100s and it transformed the truck, both towing and not.
obviously it's subjective but the best upgrade i did was the clazzio seat covers. everyone, including the dealer staff, thought i had factory leather.
