Default Onboard Air

Looking at this system for my truck. I do a lot of offroading and towing, so I am mainly looking for filling up tires when I need to. Anyone have any reviews on this one?

Thanks,

Nevermind, I found some reviews and I also found the next stage one which has a bigger compressor on sale for only $30 more than the smaller one.

Thanks,

Out the door it was $322 for the bigger one, "P/N 20008". All I need to do is connect up power and run my airlines to the front and rear of the truck and start using it. I dont think it is to bad of a price for what you get.

Thanks,

not bad, thanks
it'd be nice to have one powerful enough to run a few minor tools, because the one at my parents house cant do it. What do you use it for when wheeling? besides filling up tires

Ya that is what's nice about this one. It should run some air tools; impact gun, nail gun; hopefully anyway. I mainly want it for tire refills, and like you said occasional tool usage. I have a power inverter in my truck to run drills, grinders, and saws that I use a lot. We race desert trucks to so that is another reason for the compressor. I do go out and play in the snow during off-season in my truck to. In other words it will be used for sure. HAHA

Thanks,
Do you mind listing the site please?
I'm torn between the 10008 and 10009 models, and $100 differences. The 10008 is 33% duty cycle and 1.85 cfm at 90 psi while the 10009 is 100% duty cycle and 1.65 cfm at 90 psi.
I'm mixed. What made you by the model you did over the others? Thanks

Well I bought the system; P/N 20008 which has the 480c compressor, 2 gal. tank with max 200psi. It is 100% duty cycle at 100psi and it flows 1.76 cfm. I picked this one because it is the biggest one they offer as a kit like this (without buying each part seperate). I also emailed VIAIR and told one of the guys what I was using it for and he said the one below this would work, but when I found the bigger one on sale I said what the heck. I got it at www.4wheelparts.com

Thanks,

Just FYI the 10008 is only 33% duty cycle. Not sure if you noticed or not.
4wheelparts is a great site, I've bought a lot from them.
Also if you do want 100% duty cycle the 10009 which I'm leaning towards is same only different duty cycles.

My P/N is ("2"0008), not 10008. Your right, the 10008 is 33%, but the 20008 is 100%.

Thanks,
