Unhappy changing gears on 14'screw 4x4 from 3.55 to 4.10

so guys I'm mike I'm not new to the site but i just finally registered today so that pretty cool but i am in a serious dilemma, i want to put bigger gears but i just bought this brand new truck and don't want to void the warranty. does anyone know if ford will install 410 in a 5.0? also i don't want to do it at ford bc i can get it done at a local shop that does good work for 1500 front and rears. so can someone please give me some advice, i am a youngster who needs a little more torque out of his 5.0 lol although i programmed yesterday with super chips and wow! impressive. thanks for the help

If you let another shop do it with aftermarket gears Ford will not warranty any gear or bearing failure in either diff. Also you need to get your PCM reflashed for the gear ratio you have installed so your speedometer is accurate. Some aftermarket programmers will do this.

You already voided your warranty with the superchip.

They can't void your warranty unless they find the cause of a problem to be because of your modification.

Yes I did the speedo recal. First thing! The superchips is great for the 5.0. Amazing performance and my stock tune was taken and stored before I dumped the canned tune into truck so no, the warranty is not voided, I spoke with a fleet manager at ford and he said that is not true

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. No the programmer will not void your warranty since you can put your stock files back in it if you needed to take it in for service. We don't have any way to prove there was any programmer on it. What I was saying is if you let an independent shop put gears in your truck the components in the differentials will not be warrantable if there is bearing failure or gear failure. If a dealer does the swap with Ford gears you will have a 2 year 24k mile warranty on the parts and labor.

I would call the dealership because I called mine and they told me that my gears would not be under warranty because they weren't the original gears. So make sure before you do the swap to see if they will warranty it.
