Default Pros and Cons of Body Lift vs Suspension?

I'm looking for about a 3-4 inch either body or suspension lift, with the addition of 33 inch tires. I currently have a 2 inch front leveling kit. Any advice on the pros and cons of a body lift vs suspension lift?

Primarily to me, it's the initial cost of the Suspension lift, they run into the thousands, compared to the Body lift, under $150.00 I believe... Mainly, Lift kits will definitely change the ride comfort. Body lifts have nothing to interfere with the RIDE... If your just looking to put 33's on personally I would do the Body Lift..

There are no pros to a body lift. Its a half-assed unsafe way of gaining clearance. And they look like crap installef

First tell us a little about what your doing.

year, make, and model of vehicle. What do you use it for (DD, off-road, weekend warrior,etc..)?

Before everyone starts throwing Body Lifts under the bus do some research to what people are saying.

Not many can say (truthfully) they have had anything go wrong with BL. If installed properly they work well for clearance. Many companies make different things to hide the fact a BL has been install. So don't rule it out.

I have a 2005, XLT, 5.4L, 4x4. I use it mainly as a daily driver but to be honest the lift is mainly for looks as I have another truck I use for towing and work.

If your not doing any hard wheeling and just really daily driving it a BL would be just fine. Make sure you install it by instructions.

I have a 3" BL 4" SL on my 88 Bronco I wheel it HARD and have never had any problems. I do check everything out on my truck before taking it out though. I have only had to replace 2 bushings on two mounts off my BL.

With that 2" leveling kit you already have you can clear 33's all day long. When I had my 05 F150 4x4 I cleared 35's with just a 2" leveling kit.

^What he said^

With a level, you can actually shoe-horn 35's in there. It's tight and I don't advise it because there will be some trimming needed and a little rubbing on the suspension without the right wheel spacing.

A body lift will give you more clearance for the tires, which will give you a few extra inches of ground clearance due to the larger tire size. Other than that, a BL is for show.
Like others have said, if it is for the street, a BL is fine. In many cases it is fine for light off-road, too.
Make sure if you do go with a BL, it comes with the relocation brackets for the bumpers and anything else bolted to the frame. Remember, the bumpers are for show now, as they are no longer attached to the frame.

A suspension lift picks up the frame. The axles stay at the same height, but everything else goes up. This is good for snow, flooded roads, mud, etc. Even though the axles are still dragging, many times you can power out of it. But if your frame is bottomed out, in most cases you're stuck.

exactly. if you have the money go for the suspension. If you dont then go with the body simple as that. just realize that if you want it to be a hardcore weekend wheeler the body lift is unsafe
