Default Help: remote start won't start

Folks, I'm installing a remote start kit into my 2006 F150 FX4, and I believe I have everything hooked up correctly, but it wont start.

The door lock/unlock works, the parking light flashes when they should, the horn chirps when it should, the tach is sensing properly and is programmed in, I did the PATS programming steps to add the PATS bypass module as a "third key", and I get no parking light flashes that indicate a diagnostic fault of any kind.

When I use the remote start, the parking lights flash once to acknowledge the start signal, the radio goes off for a moment while it should be cranking, then the ignition stays "on" (judging by my instrument panel lights and the HVAC system blowing, etc). Immediately following when I think the remote start should be cranking my starter, the red security light on the dash lights up solid for about 1 second, then goes and stays off, just as if I had used my key to start the truck. As expected, after about 10 seconds the remote kit tries again automatically, but with the same same results, and repeats until I press the brake pedal to deactivate the system.

It literally "feels" like everything is happening as it should except that there is silence from my vehicle's starter.

I have my PATS byposs module powered (red lead) to 12v always on, and the ground (black lead) is connected to the "start status/active output (-)" connection off the remote start module, which is supposed to go ground when the remote start is trying to start the vehicle.

A copy of my wiring connections can be viewed here: http://1drv.ms/1pF82sg

When the remote start tries to start, the red security light doesnt flash rapidly or anything, it lights up just the same way as it does when I start the truck with one of my keys. So wouldn't that mean I was able to successfully program the PATS bypass module as a "third key" and the PATS is working fine?

I just can't think of what else I might have missed....? Anyone have any thoughts?

If I understand your connections you posted it looks like you left out the other Battery 12v(+) red/white wire. This needs to be connected also. The ignition 2 wire is not needed.

Once you make that connection try it again.

If it doesn't start after that place the key in the ignition and leave it in while trying the remote start if it starts then you have a PATS programming issue.

You rock! That was it. I'm smacking myself wondering why I wouldn't think to try that when it wasn't working... oh well, sometimes fresh eyes...

Everything's working great.

No problem! Glad it was a simple fix.
