SCT X4 OBDII cord problems
I just got an X4 from 5 star tuning and I have to begin by saying that Mike and the folk there are awesome and Mike writes some really great tunes. Now for the bad news. My tuner has a problem with either the cord or the hdmi port on the device. When plugged in it powers up but if the cord is touched or moved even slightly it powers off and reboots, big problem if this were to occur during a tune upload. I contacted 5* and they referred me to SCT as they have no control over the tuner issues and it's only the platform that they use to supply us with the tunes. I contacted SCT and after a 40 minute wait I spoke with a tech rep who advised they have had some bad cords. I continue to explain that I believe the problem is in the port on the device and it has possibly cause another problem because my background which, was once white, is now a faint blue color. The tech advised that the unexpected power on/off may have caused a short. He provided me with an RMA# and now my tuner is in the mail and I'll be waiting 7-15 business days after they receive it before I'm back in business. I returned my truck to the stock tune concerned it might be lost in the repair process but I'm also concerned about my custom tunes. I called Mike back at 5* and he said it will be no problem just let him know when I have it or a replacement back and he'll email me the tunes. The big question is...have any of you experienced a similar problem with the SCT X4?

I have a question, why didn't you save the email custom tunes to your pc like they suggest? Supposed to save the stock tune to your pc as well.

My tunes were on the device when I received it. I didn't get any in email but I was unaware that they could be pulled off and saved if that's what you mean
