Default 2015 F150 Undercover Flex Tanneau Cover Review

Purchased an Undercover Flex cover from Truckalter on here. His communication and customer service was 5 Stars.

Overall impression. Install difficulty is Mild - Easy. This is doing it solo and in the dark. If I had an extra hand and daylight, I would probably leave this on the easy side. Instructions are good not great. Had to resort to a youtube video for help.

Instructions claim rail should be mounted flush to 1/8 above however I had to mount mine almost a 1/4 inch below top of the bed. I do have a factory spray on liner and rail caps so that may be the issue.

Once you get the rails installed, its fairly easy from there.

Pros: Thus far it is VERY weather tight which is what I was looking for
Very light weight and easy to open. My wife has 0 issues.
Can be removed in about 30 seconds by removing the two ***** at the front end of the bed.
Folds up and locks for complete bed access without removal.
Low profile and clean looking.

Cons: Have to open it in order to close tailgate. (The way the weather stripping sits) However, I'd say this is a neutral due the fact it keeps it very weather tight
Contructions almost too light weight... Dont get me wrong, I think it is going to be very durable, the fact that it is so light just worries me. Im not sure this even falls under a con?

Overall impression would be a 8 out of 10. Having to open the first flap in order to close the tailgate is the biggest downfall on this. However, its light weight, clean looking, very flush, very weather tight. Let me know if you have questions.

Great write-up. Any rattling or movement when driving at speed?

No nothing. You don't even know it's back there while driving

I had this on myF250, loved it, when in the up position you can drive around as it has prop rods, and it doesn't touch the cab. Do you see this as the same way on this model for the f150? I'm in the market too....

what did you pay?

Yes. This has dual "pop rods" that lock it in the open position. It also has two snap clips that lock it in a 2/3 open position.

I paid $680 for the short bed. That was end of 2015 so I dont know if that price is still good. I purchased through a vendor here. Truckalter

Near tailgate. Both sides were similar.

I think majority of the tailgate water may have entered due to the angle I parked. I parked on a slight downhill. Had I parked the other way, there may have been less seepage. I will post pictures after a car was was well.

OP: just bumping your thread. Still liking the undercover? I can't decide on the undercover or Bak G2? Same parent company and almost identical the best I can tell. I'm looking for almost weather proof...your undercover seems to fit the bill. Any issues...I know it hasn't been long since your last post. Just checking.

Did you look into the Bak G2? If so, what made you decide on undercover?

Yes I did and the finish/material of this one is why I decided. The only thing I dont like is having to open the first fold in order to close the tailgate. Not a huge issue but still, its a little bothersome since mine is 4x4 and it sits higher than normal.

Still VERY weather tight.
