Question HID help??

Can you put HIDs in any headlights? I have after market headlights on the way to the house for my 06 fx4 and id like to stick hid's in them if possible, would there be any issues with that.

yea you can. not as great light coverage putting them in halogen housings compared to ones made for hid, but still a hell of a lot brighter than halogen bulbs. Thats all ive ever done is put them in normal housings and it works fine. watch tho with aftermarket headlights, alot of them switch to a 2 bulb system instead of the stock 1 bulb and they will use wierd bulb sizes sometimes. and if they have smaller bulb areas than factory like projectors or whatever, stick to 35W instead of 55W or you will melt the housing.

Light scatter like crazy...

Get projectors and do it right. Better light output and no scatter

The only thing i hate about projector headlights is the halos they have. For some reason the halo thing just looks really cheesy and cheap to me. Like they belong on some highschool kids ricer honda civic with an extra big spoiler.

I agree. You could opt to not hook them up or see if anyone makes them without halos.

Or go the route I'm going and get custom retrofits.

Tuxedoblack11 is doing mine and Bilinvic is another member here that does them. You could PM them and they'll explain it better than I could hope to.
