Plasma Glow Fire & Ice LED Light Strip Install
I've seen several LED light bar installs, but I hadn't seen any posts about this particular product, so here goes. This is a flexible LED light strip, as opposed to the typical hard framed bar that goes under the tailgate.
Product: Plasma Glow Fire & Ice LED Light Strip 60"
Install: I did the install in the parking lot at my apartment, and I really don't have any specialized tools. I was going to take the tailgate off and go at it that route, but I didn't have the stuff on hand to do it......so I dropped the bumper off instead. 6 bolts and the bumper shell comes off really easily (just be careful pulling it off, I left a few minor scratches on the driver side paint without realizing it). I cleaned off the install area with a wet rag and just taped it on.....2010 model has a nice curved lip on the body of the box that serves as a good guide - just eyeballed and it's almost completely level. Bumper goes back on just as easy.
Wiring: This bar comes with a 4 pin connector to just plug right in, but my model has the towing package, so I decided to hardwire it. Thankfully, the truck has a diagram of what wires do what on the 7-pin side, so I just looked at that and wired it right up.
All said and done, it took me ~3 hours start to finish.....but then again, I didn't have a lift so I was flat on my back under the truck for a bit of it and I did the majority of my wire splicing in the dark. I'd assume that for somebody with the right equipment and lighting, it would take around 1-1.5hrs.
Looks decent, but I'm waiting to see how it holds up before I make a final judgement.

I dunno wat all you use your truck for but if your gonna haul things like brush and limbs and stuff, make sure you get a little rubber gap guard for the gap when the tailgate is down between the end of the bed and tailgate. If not, a stick or whatever can yall down between and then when you go to shut the tailgate, SNAP! There's a big crack or hole in your light bar. I speak from experience. I bought one when those first came out and loved it but it had SO many cracks and holes from me using the bed. Just something to consider

I know this is a very old thread but I am looking into one of these light bars right now and wanted to know if the lights are on all the time dimmed like normal tail lights and brightened during function or only when braking/turning/in reverse.
