Default Quick question: 2013 aftermarket "Rapter" grill opinions

Hello, just a quick question. My truck was in an accident and the dealer is asking about what I want to replace the grill with. So long as the factory chrome is the same as aftermarket, or cheaper, then we're good.

What's your opinion on the aftermarket fake rapter grills? Do they bolt up correctly and not horribly and/or incorrectly?

I don't like how you can see the hood behind it but my truck is black so it shouldn't show up too loudly like in the picture..

You can also buy the "f" and the "r" to bolt in and doesn't look bad.

What are your opinions? Stay away? Have you heard any mounting issues?

Should I stay away and stick with a factory chrome and just Plastidip it black? I was told to stick with RBP, T-Rex, or Grill Craft because they'll fit correctly. RBP is just so ridiculously high.

look at the boost bars raptoid grille and see if you like that one better. it is the same style as the older raptor and IMO it looks better than this style.

you could also look at replacing the grille with an FX4 or FX2 style. I believe those are black in the center.

I like the raptoid quite a bit better. Does everything bolt right up?

I talked to the Ford dealership repairing my truck that has been here for over a month due to how much damage and they are willing to swap out the grill for the raptoid!!!

If they are willing to swap it out for an aftermarket that you like then go for it. The only issue I have seen about that style is what you mentioned about seeing the hood behind the grille. There are a few threads on this grille. Just search for paramount raptoid grille.

Ok, just talked to Raptoid company. They're based in Canada. They said it'll take 4 days to ship. So, I'm going to call them and see what happens. Fingers crossed...

The said I have to spend up to $540 on headlights and $960 on running boards. Any ideas or websites you can give?

stage3motorsports has a good selection. a lot of guys go for the spyder headlights and they would be under your price range and you may be able to get an HID kit with the remainder.

I can pull the HID kit from what's in the truck now. The only think is the spyder only has 1 lens. What about the high beams?

Also, I was going to get then paramount rapter style bumper but those are huge holes on the corners. That's the only thing that gets me. They have fog lights that fit in but they will have gaps around it on a bracket whereas the Ford bumper is flush with its fog lights...

They're also going to give $960 on my running boards. What would you get?

They make bi-xenon projector kits so you only need one lens. I bought some for my wife's taurus (only has 1 lens) and it was only around $125-150.

I personally would throw in the extra $$ and get the amp power running boards. But I have already been spoiled with the power running boards on the platinum. If you're wanting to stay under that number just pick the ones you like the best, it's personal preference.

Default 2013 grille removal

Tried to remove my aftermarket raptor style grille last night but 3 of the top mounting bolts have stripped in the plastic mount and 1 broke right off.
I was trying to save this grille to give to a buddy but wondering what to do now. Should i just try and break off or cut the plastic that holds the nut?
