Get the dealer to send you your order confirmation with VIN
The Ford system generally updates each Thu, so you should know within a week if the order is accepted or not. If not, they can tell you why.
For me, my order was submitted on a Tue, found out it was kicked back Fri due to the carbon fiber delay. We went to resubmit a new build the following week without CF only to find Ford cleared the delay and accepted my order. Poof. I had a VIN by that Fri morning.

The only real way to tell, IMHO, whether an allocation is legit if it has not been selected and does not have a VIN attached is something in writing from the regional rep.
