I have no idea what the OP plans on doing with his Raptor and I don't like when people buy trucks to be road queens(not saying the OP will do this) but in all honesty it comes down to people buy what they want and its their money. Most people will never push their vehicles to their fullest but if your putting out the cash why not buy what you want? If I had the extra cash I'd be in a raptor right now!
I still want to see pics as well!

I live in DC, mine has only been off road once.

If I lived somewhere more conducive to pushing its capabilities, I'd beat the **** out of it. I grew up out west so for me it was a nostalgia purchase more than need.

I understand completely what you mean FX4ford. Originally I bought my FX4 due to wanting to get back into a full size truck and I couldn't pass up the deal I got for it. As for the Raptor it was purchased with the idea of using it for the beach and taking it out to the different trails out in central Texas to drive on. I went down with some friends to the mud hole down in San Antonio with their trucks, had a craptacular Mazda3 then, and wanted something I could play with down there.

Very Nice....I like the blue flame color best...even over my Tuxedo Black. Welcome to the madness!!!

BTW...to add a little fuel to the " I can build a F-150 for half the cost of a Raptor" fire...nobody has even mentioned the cost to upgrade the off road mode electronics...That is also what makes the raptor perform...changes brake bias, trans programming, airbag sensitivity, yaw and roll control..etc...

i also had a dakota, 2002 crewcab, canopy 4x4 w/ 4.7L... the sticker on the window said 16mpg's when it was brand new on highway. 13 in city.

i slapped on a set of 265/75/R16 BFG AT's... and the V8 would still drive the tires, the tires didn't drive the truck. i also installed a airaid TBS and K&N CAI. airaid and K&N allowed me to run the tires back up on the good mph's.

altho my 2010 5.4L screw... is a dream. with a 140L(36Gallon) tank and 25mph... whereas the dak only had a 80L tank. its kinda weird where a heavier truck... gets much better mileage.

Really nice truck mine was ordered today. Dealer told me all order banks are filled for June and would go in July. I ordered the same color and cab as you I guess I will just have to look at yours till mine arrives.
