Traded in my 2010 FX lifted for a 2012 Raptor

Buying a raptor is almost pointless aside from looks. The overall performance is outstanding but the vehicle was build for the sahara baja... When is anyone driving them or commuter purposes going to tap into that. You could build a comparable truck for half the price.

I disagree that you could replicate what the Raptor provides for half the cost. In fact, you show me the numbers and I'll PayPal you $100.00.
I'll help you get started...
Shocks are $4,400
Front suspension is $2,500
Insert heavy duty front and rear axle cost here
Insert the cost of making a lesser engine perform at the level of the 6.2 here
Fenders and bedsides are $2,500 not including paint
Insert the cost of the rear locker here
Insert the cost of a Torsen front diff here
Insert the cost of 35inch tires here
Insert the cost of gearing here
Insert the cost of hill descent control here
Insert the cost of custom computer tuning to control throttle response and shift points off road here
None of the above reflects labor/installation.
A fully loaded - with leather, heated cooled seats, etc... - comparable F150 is at least 45k
Even if all you were doing is just replicating suspension and looks you are talking 15k, on top of the cost of a new truck. That's 60k, 10k more than a Raptor.
I eagerly await your solution.

You just can't build a raptor. They are built wide for a reason and throwing raptor suspension on a regular F-150 will off set your balance. For that reason alone one can not replicate a raptor with out the ability to fabricate a frame on their own.

I agree that the capability isn't utilized by most owners - same goes for gt500's, boss 302's, ford GT's ... Pick your specialty vehicle. The point is to separate people from their money - it's working.

The 6.2L is such an awesome motor. Can't wait to open it up after the break-in period is over. As soon as it is I plan on making a trip down to Corpus Christi/Mustang Island to do some beach driving.
