As long as it's enough to tow a pair of PWC's or a boat it's enough.

Your idea of 'a boat' and mine might be a bit different.

Like you're towing a yacht.

An F150 with the Max Tow package, for the couple of times a year I would've needed to tow it, would've towed my 33' CC Walk Around. That's 33' of fiberglass, 2 300hp outboards, up to 300 gallons of fuel, plus the trailer. But, I sold that boat so I no longer need that towing capacity. I would eventually like to get another boat in the ~25' range, which will be around 5k lbs dry, so an 8k lbs tow rating would be right around the minimum that I would want to tow it with, especially since I would probably not slip it and end up towing it more often. I'd be nice to be able to get a Raptor and not to have to buy a different truck just to tow it.

But, if you're towing a jet ski or a little bass boat, I'm sure you'll be fine.

With a boat you should be able to get to the max tow comfortably. The engine will pull it and the brakes will stop it, the limiting factor is the suspension. Boats have a low tongue weight so even towing near max should be fine.

I'm potentially looking at pulling similar weight (camper - 4876 dry, around 6300 at limit), but with a dry hitch weight of 512 lbs. I'm a little nervous about planning to tow that with a Raptor with no specs yet.

The order guide only lists the regular tow package as standard, but it looks like Max Tow might be an option...

Hmmm... Let's hope. That card also mentions "Snow Plow Prep Pkg" as an option, but I somehow doubt that. I'd believe the Order Guide over an early card printed by the Marketing Dept, though...

Edit - I don't know if we covered this, but next to "AVAILABLE ON ALL MODELS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED" in the price list is the Max Tow Pkg, and it doesn't seem to make any exception for the Raptor.

I don't see snow plow prep being an option either. I think ford said that it's only an option with the V8 since they're worried about the law or snow blocking the intercooler.

If you put air bags on the rear of a raptor would this fix the whole suspension issue with towing?
