Plenty bought for msrp or less.

Some way less

But, lots of the gotta have it now folks paid 1,5,10 over sticker to get one. I don't understand that, but it's not my $ so whatever makes you happy!

Plenty could be aggressive

Between co-workers and I, about 200 dealerships were contacted all over the east coast and found maybe 10 MSRP dealers

Then factor in how many MSRP deals are suddenly being pulled ie dealer ends up selling to someone who's offering more and you're looking at even worse odds

The key is if you have a long standing relationship with the shop

Correct. That's my mistake. Plenty is a bit strong.

@LairdNollerFord, if you'd like to promote your dealership or business here, you'll need to be registered as a Vendor or Junior Vendor. Check out this post.

Don't play that game then. BMW and Lamborghini are notorious for that supply and demand bull**** with me on 1st gen models. If you're paying cash, try the ol' "I'm here now in the showroom, paying cash, do you want to make a sale or not?". If not, walk out. More often than not they'll stop me to negotiate, otherwise I wait or shop around.

Point being, you're not going to be the only kid on the block with the newest toy, what's the rush. Especially on a domestic truck.

Do we have any forum dealers that will do internet orders? I have to admit that its a bit frustrating that I could buy a new Corvette Z06 at msrp when they first came out but I can't find a dealer to buy a Raptor without a big up charge.

This was going to be by first Ford product since the fox body mustang days but the buying experience has been really poor.

Not sure where you are in SoCal, but if anyone has two open allocations, it would probably be Galpin Ford in LA. I have no association with them, I just know that they're the biggest Ford dealer around.

Edit: if the 805 in your name refers to your area code, then it's not too terribly far south from you.

I agree....I grew up in the 805 area and Galpin or Vista were the main ones to deal with. Simi and Thousand Oaks were joke dealers....I always liked Vista but I remember back in the day when the Shelby Mustangs were in this same position that Vista marked it up by $25k. I always see high dollar ones from Galpin....who knows if they mark them up though.

Good luck with the search!

A dealer in Massachusetts has twins for sale, allegedly on the way.
Better hurry; they won't last long at those prices!
