Default Running boards?

Looking at possibly picking up a set of raptor running boards for my FX4. Are they plastic or metal? Any problems slipping on them when wet? Thanks.

Metal and have a line-x type coating. Don't slip

Best running boards available. I put them on my Fx4 that I had before my Raptor and absolutely loved them!

I love them on my Raptor. The only issue with them is in the mud. W/o front mud flaps, they pick up a lot of slop all the way back to the middle of the rear door. A side benefit is they stick out far enough that cars in a parking lot hit them with their doors over the side of your truck.

If you're in an area with a lot of snow you'll have to deal with them holding all the snow and slop from the road that comes off the front tires. Can make it hard to open the doors sometimes after a long trip but not too big of a deal. Definitely no problem with slipping when wet.

They suck for mud and I am guessing the same for snow. I am going to modify/change them out. I took 4 shovel fulls of mud off of mine from one day this weekend and I am running front mud flaps. Tubes of some sorts or more holes to let the mud/snow just fall thru would be better.
