Honestly, I think the new Raptors are bad a**! However I'm at an age where the comforts of the Platinum are a better fit for my lifestyle. I'd really like to have both but just can't justify upwards of $150,000 worth of trucks in my driveway.

The Raptor has everything the Platinum has, plus the seats are more comfortable and it rides much nicer than the Platinum. I know, because I Traded my '15 Platinum in on the Raptor.

If prices were within $3k or$4k I'd lean the way of the Raptor. But at $6k or more, I'm not able to justify... yet. And since they can't be found anyway, point is probably moot.

I have no issue with the seats in the Platinum. Aesthetically I'm just drawn to the look of the new Raptors. My plan is to sit back and see what engine options become available. At some point a V-8 option will be available and I'm curious what direction they go. Not that I'm adverse to the current Ecoboost I just want to see all of my options.

I have driven a 17 Raptor and the 17 Platinum. I ended up buying the Platinum. Why? No way in hell I was paying dealer markup on that truck as glorious as it may be. Parking the Raptor like many said isn't a problem once you get used to it being a little bigger. The Raptor drove smooth and was very cushy. There is a lot more dive to it when stopping. Anyone can transform the looks of their Platinum into a Raptor later on if you are willing to dump the money into parts. The difference will be your engine.

The real value of the Gen 2 Raptor is in the second, third hand purchase. By the end of 2018 there will be plenty of used Raptors on lots. They won't command near as much of a premium when there is plenty of availability. They are no longer limited production, at some point even the retards that sell cars for a living will come to accept it.
