All,
I got the truck home and I agree with a lot of the feedback. The truck is awesome. Lots of upgrades from the 2010 5.4L SCab. I'll be posting pictures as soon as I can. Still have to take a lot of the custom parts off the old truck. It's going back to the shop tomorrow for removal of the custom parts ans installation onto the new one. These include: truckvault, lights, GPS transmitter, Cap, and a few other bits. I'll post pictures both of the original and the new truck both before and after the mods are put back on. New mods are planned that include, radios, antennas, lights, bumper, and other gear I need for work. I'll start a new thread with all the features outlined for those that are interested.
Here's some of what I found that I like so far about the new 2014.
1) 6.2L - Lots of power (+100HP), but no noticeable decrease in MPG so far.
2) Ride - Obviously tighter and newer feel.
3) Bigger Cab - Rear seat area provides lots of passenger space. Plus with the seats folded up in back, I can fit my two working K9's loose in the back seat area; or even put a crate in the cab, which is great for the hot TX summers here.
4) Convenience - Remote start, better info panel/dispay, upgraded Nav, better headlights, other great convenience features. And the software works better for the iPod. The improved trip computers show time, MPG, miles, and gallons of fuel used. Since this is a work truck tracking this data is very handy.
5) WiFi - I don't really need this and I will re-install my own. But nice for those that might want it. I use my own secured communications.
6) Seats are heated and cooled.
7) Folding power mirrors. These are very handy for some of the tight spaces I need to get into. One touch in and out.
8) Center console. The new one has better power points and the USB connector is inside it instead of on the dash. There is also a power inverter built in to the center console and behind it in the passenger compartment.
9) For those with small kids, the rear seats have steel connectors to attach car seats.
10) Wheels - For those that want bead locks, the newer wheels apparently can be used with them.
Pictures to follow.
