Default New Raptor on Long Island...

Well, I traded in my '09 4x4 Lariat SCREW last week for a new orange '10 Raptor with the 6.2 engine.

Still getting used to some of the changes, some of the quirks, etc... but like it alot.

Oh, it moves just fine. The only problem is the same one most all of these "drive-by-wire" vehicles today have... and that is the slight hesitation between the time you mash the gas and the time the engine actually winds up.

That problem didn't exist when you had a direct cable from the pedal to the throttle linkage... but now that there's a dang computer in the way, it has to take a few milli-seconds to think about it.

Like any vehicle, there are quirks... but the main ones I'm talking about are the things that, although Ford makes them available on other vehicles, aren't available on the Raptor. For instance:

* You can get the rear-view back-up camera... but you CAN'T get the reverse sensors.

* The truck has the premium driver & passenger seats... and you can get heated seats. But you CAN'T get the heated & cooled seats.

* The driver-side sun-visor Home-Link option that’s available on just about every other single vehicle Ford makes isn’t available on the Raptor! Really?? I guess Ford figures that Raptors only live & sleep in open caves, and not in garages or gated communities.

* The truck has the built-in Sony Nav/Radio system... and what... 10 speakers & a sub-woofer? Yet the only way to control the speaker output is via basic treble/bass & balance/fader controls. No digital sound processing... no equalizer. How hard would it have been to include an EQ in the software?

Just little quirks like those that bug me. But overall, loving the truck.
