Do you mind saying how much you agreed to pay?

Here is the order guide and price list. Print them and show your dip$%*t dealer you know what your talking about.

I got an email from their customer service asking if my needs were being met, lol. I laid into her and told her what I wanted and to get me some information if they're interested in my business. No plans to step foot in the store until I'm ready to sign papers or look at something on the lot.

I hear that and mostly agree. I feel good with the situation I got - ordered all to my specs with no money down. When it comes time to submit the order to Ford the details will be out with enough publications of the truck for me to feel confident to pursue or not. I ordered the first gen Shelby GT500 the same way, with waaay more pre-hype and close to double the timeline to discuss what the facts would/could be. Only regret - I paid waaay over sticker dealer mark-up. Tough life-lesson - Learned!

Default getting a raptor

So I've been following the new Raptor now for several months. Thought I would share my experience over the last few days. Perhaps it will save you all some time. I read on the internet last week that the Raptors were available for ordering. I found the spec sheets and pricing (I think on this website) so I thought it seemed legit. Saturday I went to my local dealer and figured I'd order one up since I've been wanting one since I first saw the new version months back. The sales guy at the dealership (whom I've bought several trucks from in the past) told me that the inventory manager did the ordering. They were really busy so I said no problem will come back during the week. Stopped by today and he had the spec sheets/packages (same ones as this forum has). So I circled the stuff I wanted and gave it to him, gave him my cc for a deposit and said "order it". So far so good. So he goes over to the desk manager for a few minutes and comes back. Then he says that only the GM handles Raptor orders. And the GM isn't here. Told me he will call me later this week. I'm leaving parts of this story out in the interest of time but best I can tell from my experience and others on this site here is the current situation:

1) You can in fact "configure" a Raptor with the specs/prices that have been floating around at your local dealership.
2) It does not appear that your local dealer can actually order one for production from Ford at this time.
3) If you do #1 above but think you are actually doing #2 what is likely happening is your dealer is putting all your docs/paperwork in a file and if your lucky when they can order one for you they will.
4) They probably won't order yours but just order whatever they can and sell for a mark up.

Anything is possible for sure. I feel good with mine, no money, no cc, no nada. I "picked out" with inv mgr at the computer - options matched print out to the "T". IF any sleaziness / slimy stuff happens when it's show time, then I take my coin sack elsewhere or to other toys? Riding good vibes for now...

Just sort of the vibe I got (if you are meaning #4 in my list). Every other time I've ordered a vehicle I get a print out from the dealer that appears to be from the manufacturer. That doesn't seem to exist on the raptors yet.

At any rate I will likely just wait until one shows up on a lot and buy it. That's what I did with my Shelby after the same sort of non sense with ordering one last fall.

Please share your story over at Mustang6G with the guys who think paying $10K+ ADM on a R model is 'a good deal'...

I'm not saying it is ever smart to pay ADM but the Gt350 R is very limited. Depending on how many years they are produced it may actually be a good investment. However on a Raptor not so much. Especially with the rumors that this model doesn't have the volume restriction of the previous generation.

To each his own for sure, but for me - when you are talking that kind of money it opens up a whole lot of other options.
