MSRP + $25k for 2017 Raptor
Couldnt believe it when I read it. Dealer here in western WA has an incoming Raptor marked up $25k. Would someone actually pay that? I love the truck, but thats insane

There's no way i would pay over sticker. Which is what im paying for mine. Those dealers and the people who would pay that much over are nuts. I would not pay over for anything, not even a mustang. I would just wait til the vehicle cools off in the market.

If a dealer listed a price like that, that would put them on my do not ever visit list. That is insane and ridiculous. Ford should be slapping these people around as my guess its deterring people from even looking around when vehicles are priced like that.

When the gen 1 first came out lots of folks were asking if it was worth the extra money to buy a Raptor. I paid like 5k less than MSRP for an early '10 when folks were paying at least 10k markup elsewhere - of course they weren't as well known then.
Now that base trucks are 50k plus, I'm inclined to think it would be cheaper to get a non-Raptor and put a MT kit on it or wait for a second hand Raptor in late '17.
Marketing and chest thumping has folks focused on the HO eco but I can guarantee you that the engine will already overpower the suspension - that means a well sorted MT base model with less power will be faster in the dirt - not even debatable.
I really like the gen2 but to me it's not worth 70k+ as a starting point, considering where you could be with a ~50k truck and 20k in suspension OR where you could be with a 35k gen 1 and 40k in suspension.

But when you talk them down to sticker price, you feel better right?

The only things I lose are massaging seats and a 6.5' bed. Thats a NO BRAINER!

Oh, if the money works then I'm obviously all for it (I have one). I was referring to having to pay the 25k markup. I guess I wasn't clear on that.

I wouldnt be opposed to a 35k gen 1 but the problem is buying a used raptor with 60k+ miles on it to get there... I wouldnt even consider buying a used vehicle of this nature (off road) from anyone I did not know VERY well.
