I currently have a '05 FX4 - 5.4 Supercab and its been a great truck but I keep looking at raptors and I'm beginning to get the itch for one. I would like to hear some general likes/dislikes and recommendations on equipment packages etc. Thanks, gotta go, the warden's coming (wife)

It's a personal thing. I wouldn't get a a Raptor without the 801A package. But that's because I like them loaded with all the goodies. It depends on your intended usage, your personal preferences, and of course, your budget.

The important stuff you don't get choices. Tire size, engine, bed size, etc.

The 801A package is definitely the way to go, I just wish I would have gotten the front camera with it.

The front camera is an easy add, and adding it later let's you do it so that you can use it to park, not just on 4LO. I'll be adding it and trying to connect it to an upfitter switch and display on the Livewire TS screen.

I have had both, a 2013 with the 800A and one with the 801A. I like the 801A better. Just nicer perks. I am not terribly fond of the sunroof, because I live in Arizona, an open sunroof is just too blast furnace hot most of the year. On the odd day it is cloudy, and I am not on a freeway, it isn't bad.

As for the truck. It is a money pit. In the most wonderful way, there is always something else I want to do to make it just a little more unique and mine. Fortunately, I don't have niggling issues like breakdowns that I need to take care of.
I also like the ride of the truck. It rides like a cadillac. or I guess a Lincoln...It is wonderful, and one of the most fun vehicles I have ever owned.

Depends on what you intend to do with the Raptor. If you want a daily driver, then realize that gas mileage isn't going to be a strong point. If you want a truck for hauling stuff, the payload is fairly light at 800#. The suspension is fairly soft for off road use. I think the tow rating is less than other F150's as well. All that being said, the Raptor is a badazz truck.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into the tow rating issue. I have a boat that has an over the road weight of about 5800 lb. (trailer included of course) when full of fuel, food and skis. I can't imagine this would be any problem though. Anybody have about 60 grand lying around doing nothing ??

Ordered every option, no real regrets. If I had to do it again would have not gotten the Factory spray-in bed liner and tonneau cover. There really isn't as many options to choose when comparing to a non-raptor F-150.
