Locking Gas Fill Plug
Ford Parts says the current capless gas filler neck design changed in 2015.
Since then there have been no corresponding locking gas fill plugs.
Strictly for peace-of-mind while parked on the street, I was hoping they would be made available again.
Any word on FoMoCo plans for same? TNX

I don't know of any. I've had capless fuel fillers on my vehicles since 2008 (6 previous and 2 currently) a couple sat outside 24/7. Parked all over the country while traveling. No problems. There are literally millions of vehicles on the road with capless fuel tanks. It's a non-issue.

Personally I never had a problem operating a conventional threaded cap. To me, THAT was a non-issue. The capless neck does not have the same level of protection against water and dirt intrusion. That's my grievance with the design.

Thanks for the replies.
I have locking covers on my Mustangs and Lincoln, but the filler opening changed in 2016 and doesn't accommodate the old version.
You would think a truck designed for off-roading could use a little added intrusion protection for the filler opening. I guess I expect too much from cloistered designers at Ford.

the filler opening is pretty protected from dirt just by itself, but I've seen Mustang folks put either aluminum foil or plastic wrap over the opening and securing with a rubber band.
