A little info please
Hello All. So, I started a thread about me getting a FX4 or Lariat with a 6.2. The Raptor was my first choice, but the Ford website said it only got 11 mpg! That was just too low for me. I know you don't buy a 4x4 for mpg, but just wanted a little more than 11. I'm totally new at this and need some input from actual Raptor owners. What do you see from your truck in mpg and what's the difference between a FX4 and Lariat loaded with the 6.2 and a Raptor. They're all around the same price. At least the one's I'm looking at.

Lets see, front fenders, hood, bumper, grill, rear fenders, fender flares, $750 a peice shocks, forged aluminum lower control arms, upper control arms, 8" wider front and rear, wider rear end housing, raptor spec. seats, floor mats, steering wheel, interior center console and door trim, 35 inch wheels, led brake light(on cab above rear glass) and driving lights, speedo cluster (svt), off road mode, aux switch board, and im sure theres a few i missed for the raptor. As you can see you get a whole lot more vs lariat or fx4. And you dont see your truck around every other block (meaning raptor is unique). Raptor weighs around 500-700 lbs more then your average f150. If you know how to drive for fuel economy you will get around 2-3 mpgs less than the average ecoboost crew 4x4 owner. If you put a leveling kit and 35 inch tires(on a ecoboost) you will prob. get the same fuel economy as your typical ecoboost owner maybe better. I drive on a average daily basis 70%hwy/ 30% city and get 15.0mpg. On a 4700 mile trip from louisiana to yellowstone through all kind of diff. terain and averaged for the whole trip 17.2 mpg. On flat road at 60mph=19.6 mpg 65=18.4, 70mph=17mpg i dont go past 70mph as the fuel starts to go by much faster. Hope this info helps. Im sure you will be happy in any f150.

Thanks so much blue flame raptor! I don't even think anyone else has to post now. I'm definitely going to be telling my local dealer to find me one. The only bad thing is. I'm the kinda person that doesn't like to wait and my local dealer doesn't keep em in stock. That means they would have to find me one that they could get either that day or early the next. Again, thank you. By the way, Louisiana? That's actually where I live!

0.9% is for suckers!
they are all the same MSRP to start (roughly) but the $50k F150 you can get for $38k, the $52-54k Raptor will sell for $52k.
My 2011 Raptor never saw 17mpg at any speed. It was usually 14 ish and if you drive it hard 9-10 is more likely.
My 2012 FX4 Eco sees 15-ish if I drive it like I'm running from the cops, and if I baby it less than the speed limit (limit is 75 and drive 65) you might see 18-19. at 60 mph for a long distance I bet it will get 21-22mpg.
Raptor runs premium, which right now is $.30/gal more? not a big deal, but an extra $10/tank.
