I believe that kit also voids the warranty; and makes the truck no longer street legal so the Raptor is still several legs up on it.

actully its not. all mopar parts and accessories come with a 12month/unlimited mile warranty and a 12month/12k mile warranty on labor. and being its a mopar part they can put a warranty on it. BUT if you buy a pre runner already built from a dealer you get all those parts covered under the 3yr/36k mile warranty because the dealer installed them before the sale. my dealer puts lift kits and wheels/tires on jeeps, rams all the time. we aslo put mopar exhaust and CAI on the challengers and chargers.

Styling wise, I like the cab shape of the Dodge a little better, but the bed on that Dodge-UGH!!!! Performance wise, you can't beat a Ford.

S10 zr2 was a very capable machine for being stock.

I would still love to have one. An ls1 fits in the engine bay like a glove.

It's like movie sequels...how many sequels have ever been better than the original?

I may be a newbie to the forum, but definitely not in the offroading world. The raptor and the ram runner are for guys that don't offroad and just play a little. OEM? the raptor has OEM A arms but still has Fox shocks. For the extra cost of the Raptor you can buy a true offroad system with better shocks that Fox. Either truck is a bragging rights truck that you bought it, its not that useable though. I would never buy a dodge but the ram runner I think has the raptor beat. ok yea raptor has the downhill decent braking system, but if you know how to offroad you know that thing is a load of crap and will do better without it.

Probably not, new F150's that are 4wd run in the 30k+ range, more like 35k+. You cannot for 10k get a better offroad system than what comes stock on the raptor. Lift and tires alone will run you close to that before we even start talking about the shocks, upgraded brakes, control arms, skid plates etc. Yes there are better aftermarket products than what the Raptor comes with stock, but you really cannot beat the Raptor for its price.
