The EcoBoost in the Raptor is a Raptor exclusive. Prepare to be impressed.

It should be pretty stout for sure but I'm wondering what, if any, boost restrictions now exist. The gen 2 Eco eliminates steel cylinder liners in favor of spray in PTWA liners to save cost and weight. PTWA will not support the same boost levels as steel sleeves.

For the tune/intake/down pipe/large FMIC crowd it won't make much of a difference. For the folks expecting to do turbo upgrades and more it's possible the platform may not be as robust as the gen 1.

Edit - obviously 600ish HP is no problem given the GT numbers. Just wondering what the ceiling looks like given the structural changes.

Raptors have always looked awkward. They've never been a great looking truck. However this model is a step in the right direction. It's still awkward looking but less than the old version.
It was also stupid for ford to not offer at least two engine options. They need a big v8 option. They just neutered the hell out of the Raptor. Too bad.

As for why the truck was towed on the second lap...they'll never let out what the real problem was.

...But I'm sure they'll remedy it.

No you cannot get a super cab with the 5.5 bed. I believe in 09 it was an option but not anymore. I think it looks great that way!

She's part of the media/public team so my guess is that she (and others on that team) have already been briefed on how to respond to this story. Just my guess, but I'm kinda curious as well.

Not to brag but I've already run the 2017 Raptor in a few championship races. Well, in Forza lol but Forza is about the most realistic racing/car simulator you could ever experience, and because Forza 6 had Ford as their partner they were able to laser scan and model the new Raptor and GT to millimeter accuracy. I wouldn't doubt that the team at Forza spent weeks if not months with the 2017 vehicles to get them right in the game. And if in fact they were as accurate as they always have been in the past, the 2017 ecoboost is quite a tank and a blast to drive (in Forza) ;D

You can get both supercab and supercrew with the 5.5" bed... Even in the Raptor. The Raptor was never made with the longer beds though (6.5, 8).

the supercab is not available with a 5.5' bed.
The Raptor is a 157" wheelbase period, no exceptions.
supercab with 6.5 bed or supercrew with 5.5 bed.
Next you will want a standard cab with a 5.5 bed?

Yeah, not correct. I have a super cab Raptor, it has a 5.5ft bed.

This gen 2 scab has a 5.5ft bed:

Every Raptor ever built AND every Raptor that will be built come with 5.5ft beds.
