By the way, how is your truck doing? Haven't seen any updates on your build page I'm subscribed to. Hope your health issues are doing well in this new year, best wishes dude.

They made some structural changes in the blocks to make up for the lack of steel. Pretty sure the Raptor is getting the same black as the new GT, totally redesigned and not your dad's SHO motor.

As you can imagine the treatment costs put a hurt on my play funds. Not to mention I can't carry the load like before so I've taken an income hit as well. Once I get my strength back it'll all work out.
Plans are for full LT F/R and Currie diffs F/R with beefy RCV 300m axles up front, manual hubs and a full cage. Right now I'm just coasting. I haven't been to an event since I had the last batch of work done :/
I'm glad to hear PTWA isn't a 'step back'. I know the first thing these Raptor maniacs are going to do is up the boost. It's what I'd do

Heard some kind of electrical problems, that they wouldn't specify. I know the Ford GTs at the Rolex 24 were having solenoid issues in their transmissions as well as a few little teething problems like a wheel breaking off a brake line during a tire change. They sure are pretty to look at and were very fast when running, as one was leading the GTLM group for a lap or two before the little gremlins showed up.
WarSurfer, glad you're doing better! Your Raptor must look like a "spaceship" to people in Virginia as opposed to here in CA, where they are everywhere, and modified "prerunners" are common place.

I stand corrected, I dont know where I got that info but it was clearly wrong. my numbers dont even make sense a supercrew 5.5 is 145", a 157" only fits under a supercrew 6.5 bed or a supercab 8 bed?

With the technology of today's turbos and having little lag, coupled with the fact that a turbo V6 set up can put out more tq than an NA V8, what part of an EB putting out 500hp+ is all that bad in an off road vehicle?

I like V8s but the TurboV6 works in trucks pretty well, just ask the hundreds of thousand people that have bought them already, and the Raptor adds another 100+ HP and gobs more torque too. Some of us just wish they'd get around to Ecoboosting the Coyote V8.

What i have heard the V6 is stout but the only thing i am concerned about is does the V6 work harder than say a chevy V8 and has the LIFE that the V8 does. Over working a smaller product sometimes don't work out over the long run.

Depends on RPMs, tune, compression etc. A Turbo V6 doesn't necessarily "work harder" than a V8. It really depends on many things.
