Claw type compressor. Can be done (evidently four helps), but personally I would not use this type on our springs...
Shop type spring compressor. Lots of different variations, but the idea is that it is much quicker and easier, but perhaps more importantly that you won't get maimed if the coil pops off...

Mid perch adjustment can be done without removing the shocks. Here is a video how-to. Pretty quick job will be doing mine this week.

ATW is right. This is an easy adjustment. I personally have used the claws to adjust 3 sets of stock foxs and 1 set of 3.0 foxs. If you are worried about the claws just get 2 sets and use all 4 on the coils. Remember to take each side in a little at a time and not all at once.
As for 37s.... The true 37" tall tires really need the Glass fenders like Boatecs and with that you have to trim/bend over the pinch weld on the firewall. Its really not that hard to do.
