Thing about allocation is, it can change based on demand and there will be demand. Raptors are no longer SVT and they are no longer limited production (meaning Ford isn't going into '17 saying 'we're only building 5k units'). If all those folks who said, "I'd of bought a Raptor if it came with an ecoboost...", actually go buy one, they'll sell at least 3 times as many as Gen 1's. That coupled with the marketing idea that you can have fun and get decent MPG, I think the Raptor (if priced right) will break a bunch of records.

Pricing info is similarly murky, yet the first F-150 Raptor’s relative accessibility—about 46 grand to start in 2014—was key to its charm. Don’t expect a huge leap in price; we expect base trucks will begin around $50,000, and loaded SuperCrews could reach 60 large.

Allocation determines who gets the units for that build week. The way allocation is split is based on Sales and availability. They don't count equally, I think sales factor 60% and availability 40%. The regions like to call it turn and earn. The more you sell and fewer you have, the more you get. So if you've got lots of units on the ground and haven't been selling them, you won't get many new allocations. If you have none because you sold them all you should get a good number allocated. This information doesn't help a customer much as you really can't tell what dealers will get allocation. Larger dealers will get more allocation, but will have more orders also so doesn't mean faster scheduling. Generally most dealer are in similar situations and wait times will be similar. There are exceptions to this, for example 1999 Super Duty's were hard to get, but we had plenty of them as in a rural community we've always sold lots of HD trucks and the sales history helped us and hurt the city dealers that were selling them because they were "hot", this will hurt us the other way when the 05 Mustang comes out as I don't sell many normally I'll have a harder time getting them. Now this system ends up with leftovers as it doesn't end up with every dealer earning exact allocation and its hard to schedule .44 of a truck, so the left overs are used to get allocation to dealers that have retail orders and didn't earn (or earn enough) allocation to schedule them.

When I bought my Raptor it was one of, if not, the first 6.2 in Northern Virginia. I paid less than MSRP when every other dealer in the area had a 10k markup. Be patient and call around. You'll eventually find someone with an IQ over 70.

So true !!! Makes no sense why they would skip on any amount profit!
Just wait for the bubble to burst. Dealers are stupid, rather than make 2k off of 100 people, they'll RAPE 2 people for 10k.

Sorry, late to the game but I too have been told that July 18th order blank is open. My dad is first on his dealers list (this will be 3rd raptor) and I plan on buying his '14 ruby red special edition. In my opinion, avalanche will be the color to get but will need some after market color highlights to make it pop. For all those nay sayers on the ecoboost, just wait till the after maket starts selling turner kits, 600, 700, and 800 hp will be easy 😈

I'm leaning towards the new gray, but wish there would offer a brighter color. Seems like the colors are more muted. The only bright one might be the blue. Those will be the two colors for me.

Just finished texting with a very good friend of mine and Ford Dealer owner. He stated they will begin ordering in 1-2 months, but he doesn't have the actual ordering guide yet. He has 4 on the list to order new Raptors, including mine.
