2017 Raptor

I drive both the Eco and the 5.0L daily. The Eco is my work truck and 5.0L is my personal FX4. To be completely honest, I feel that the power between the two engines is very similar. And although the sound of the turbos is pretty fun, I still prefer the 5.0L over the Eco.
We purchased the 5.0L and I don't regret it for a second, even when I jump behind the wheel of the Eco. You just can't beat that sound of a V8.

I think the whole V8 vs V6 is getting pathetic. If you're a diehard V8 then stick with what you have don't buy it. I believe the cummins motor is a 6 cyl (in-line) and produces great power and I don't even think anyone cried when it wasn't a big 6L diesel.

So is this the 2017 Raptor Forum we are going with? It seems there are several and even a 2016 Raptor that is obsolete. To my point of the post... 450HP confirmed.

Still not 100% confirmed not an official ford release. but that should be the stock number . Now add that tuned first gen eb trucks are picking up 50 hp and 100ftlbs at the wheels with tune intake and exhaust and I think we will see 425 whp and 500+ wtq raptors for cheap shortly after release. I will be getting one for sure and throwing my current turbos on. By the time the raptor comes out with dual fuel options I would not rule out 500+ whp can't wait
...the new GT packs a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 nestled in the middle of its wheelbase and driving "more than 600 horsepower" to the rear wheels. Although Ford hasn't revealed the specific output or performance figures, it says the engine – derived from its Daytona Prototype unit and mated to a seven-speed DCT – is its most powerful production EcoBoost ever.

As long as I can hear turbos doing their thing, there is nothing wrong with a high performance V6. Does a throaty rumble of an 8 sound good? Yep. But so does the whistle of free flowing exhaust from a turbo'd vehicle.

The drone of a V8 can be very annoying on long trips. Had a V10 in my Dodge and it sounded like a UPS truck. It's all subjective, but I'm personally enjoying the Ecoboost in my '14 and glad to see it going into the forthcoming Raptor with some higher output.
