But if it's not a temporary bit of trim, then what exactly is it? It's only on the two black ones and not on any of the others we've seen - except the white one of course, lol.

Would be cool if they'd do a custom light bar there.

Its going to be like KITT from Knight Rider.

I do wish sometimes the raptor didn't have all the plastic look it can have. Give me some color to cover up the plastic look.

The Raptor is designed to look like those Baja race trucks. However, it would fail miserably in desert racing without some serious modifications. It's tougher than the standard F150, but nowhere near as tough as those Baja trucks.

Made with lots of plastic for a premium price.
I wish some aftermarket companies would make replacement color matched parts and panels. That would be a money maker.

missing my point to make a point. i've raced those trucks you speak of, for many years. Full cages, 20"+ of suspension travel, 600+hp. solid rear axles, etc.. And of course a stock truck is not going to win a race. and yes, there are many companies making money hand-over-fist doing aftermarket improvements. "it is akin to those trucks" as I said. My point is, don't knock it because it can't tow 10,000lbs. don't complain that a raptor is "too wide", because that width is there for a reason- travel...and over whoops, not for swamping around or rock climbing. anyhow. i'm sure someone will miss my point and say something clever, yet again. whatever.

its a good truck. Ford made a stylized stock whip in the vain of desert race trucks, which actually did finish a baja 1000, stock! look it up.

and maybe Ford actually will make a Home Depot version, single-door 8'-bed dually raptor for some of those wishing fellas.. maybe...

They've run a pretty stock truck in the past, with an ecoboost, raptor suspension and a few other mods, but not much. I'm sure it would do fine, but like many have said, mods will only make it perform that much better.
