Inter-cooler was redesigned on the '15's and haven't heard of a first-hand case of condensation with them yet (forum or otherwise). If you have a pre-'15 you can drill a hole in the inter-cooler or look at the Full-race aftermarket CAC.

Keep in mind that "Widespread" on a forum is not equal to real-world. Many come to a forum looking for an answer to a issue.

Back to the topic at hand. Any idea when we will get some HP/TQ numbers?

I've read about the issues on this forum but I don't know anyone who's had these issues and I know about 12 people in my area with ecoboosts.

I know when I started looking at getting rid of my 07, I looked at the 13 3.5L ecoobost, but like most had heard a lot of issues with the 11 and 12s, but my 13 never had an issue. When I traded it in on my 16 Lariat I noticed that the opening in the front end was gone due to Ford changing the location of the intercooler and the most noticeable difference was the lack of the turbo whine that I heard in my 13.

Are these the real numbers? 450hp and 500lb-ft? I'm trying to see if I can find another source.

The old and outdated one has a V8. Go buy one of those, just wait till the new one comes out so you get a swingin' deal.

Couldn't agree more. I, like you, also value vanity over performance. Everyone needs to hear how tough my truck sounds. As a matter of fact, what Ford needs to do is bring back the 460...nothing like the sound of that big block to say "hey, look at how loud I am!" Who cares about the added weight over the front axle and how it affects performance....

Ya, cause the 14 Raptor had horrible performance. There is only a 500lb difference between the 17 and the 14, and most of that is attributed to the aluminum body. So that V8 doesn't add much weight. Once you add the 2 turbo's and all the stuff that goes with them, you are about at a wash weight wise. (from the specs released so far)

I like last version even with the stock muffler. It doesn't have to be super loud, it just doesn't have to sound like a ricer, which the new one does.

OK I know the spec sheet ***** like to hear themselves talk but let's get real for a minute, keep the weight issue out of the conversation. Side-by-side and bone stock the real world weight difference between the old raptor and the raptor will be basically negligible for real world truck owners. Then you will have a bunch of those new Raptor buyers putting a bunch of virtually useless crap on their new raptor for looks and poser points which will add A LOT of weight right back to the vehicle. Look, The fact is I'm sure the V6 will sell, maybe go gangbusters, maybe not, but Ford should have at least offered a V-8 option in the new Raptor...there are still plenty of truck buyers, including potential Raptor buyers who will never own a truck with a V6 in any form. So Ford, feel free to continue with your V6 fetish but don't shove it down people's throats.. Instead keep giving your customers options that they want.

But in the end you just need to buy what you want and don't buy what you don't want. If you are a guy who wants a real truck with a V8 but who still wants a desert runner type half ton truck with a V-8. There are viable and competitive options.I know of a company that will make you a kick butt, extremely good looking desert runner with a Kore tactical suspension, customer widened fenders, 17" or 20" wheels with 35" tires, Fox shocks and a supercharged 5.7L (500HP ATW) or SC 6.4L (625HP ATW) or NA 7.0L (600HP ATW) V8...with Viper exhaust..all For all for about the same price as a new Raptor and it will smoke a Raptor. They also have NA options for the 5.7 and 6.4. Oh, and you can buy it from a dealership and it still keeps its factory warranty. You'll be surprised what you'll find when you look around a little bit.

So I got tired of whining about it and just started looking for options. And the options are very, very good.

Good luck to the new Raptor and you boys have fun ricing along, just not for me.
