I honestly think more companies will start coming out with limited production off road based trucks like the Raptor. The Raptor is just too much of a success for them not too.

The Minotaur has the same fender flares, Kore Tactical suspension, 35" tires varying engine options from NA 5.7 and 6.4 to supercharged versions of the 5.7 (500 HP ATW) and 6.4 (625 HP ATW) And it kicks butt. And you can buy one right now.
Im guessing power for the TRX truck stays under 600hp in production form just to help protect powertrain components.
If you dont think the Rebel T-ReX (see what I did there?) wont make it into production (sans roll bar and dual spares LOL) then your fooling yourself. 5th gen RAM is right around the corner and this truck has some styling queues from the 5th gen 1500.
Oh, Its coming and for those who want serious V8 power in their Baja type truck, here ya go.
But the good news for die-hard Ford guys...hey at least it may prompt Ford to bring back a V8 for Raptor as Ford wont be able to sit on its underpowered EcoBoost butt for long.
As for MPG, it'll be roughly the same as any other HEMI.
If you think RAM hasn't done some weight savings on the TRX and 5th gen 1500, you're also fooling yourself.
Keep in mind the last generation F150 was HEAVY. Sure it lost weight by going to aluminum but its still not that much lighter than the competition as they stand now. So its going to be quite easy for the competition to drop enough weight to catch up without wide spread use of things like aluminum.

The timing on this is perfect. They see an opening due to their success with the Hellcat and the hole created in the niche from not having a V8 option.
Personally, Im glad RAM is finally doing it. Its good for the niche. They did it by pooling together existing tech and the success of a conversion company.

I gues TFL guy hasn't read the RAM website. It says some very specific things.
"Concept vehicle shown. Vehicle specifications may change."
"With 575 horsepower, the Ram 1500 Rebel® TRX will be the most powerful factory-engineered half-ton pickup ever to be madecapable of tearing up the pavement at speeds greater than 100 mph."
The RAM guy wasn't actually lying...Technically, THAT is just a concept but a Rebel TRX even if slightly different WILL be made.
LOL

My guess is if they do actually make this it will be horribly overpriced. Especially if they end up using the hellcat engine. Thats one of the main reasons the charger hellcat is $80k. To each their own but never would i pay $80k for a FIAT... Just saying..

a Base Ram with crew cab and 4x4 is $36k
So adding the hellcat setup to a truck plus 37s, king shocks(over priced), and whatever addons they may throw at it. the only way they would get anywhere close to base price of a raptor is by loosing money
