Currently just a concept vehicle, but I doubt that will stay that way for long. Other manufacturers will have to have a vehicle to answer the Raptor. I think this one would blow away the new Raptor.

Very similar suspension. Bigger tires. (37's) And a 575hp supercharged Hemi V8.

I dont think that would blow away the raptor at all. The power to weight ratio of that thing has to be atrocious. I think a tuned 2017 Raptor would come out in front of this, not only that but just the lightweightness of the 2017 Raptor is enough alone to say its a better offroad vehicle.

Not only that, but this "concept" ram will run through gas quicker than if you cut a hole in the bottom of the gas tank. Wont ever hit production

The announced price of the Raptor starts at under $50K? I don't see the Ram getting anywhere near that low unless Chrysler wanted to take a significant hit on each truck.

Probably faster stoplight to stoplight but it won't hang off road. This thing is at least 6000lbs and only running 2.5s. New Raptor is 500lbs lighter and running 3.0s. Power is irrelevant if your suspension can't keep up.

Unless you are doing Baja, that suspension would be plenty. And if I was doing Baja, I wouldn't be driving either truck, I'd be driving one purpose built.

It's not good enough, that's why the new Raptor comes with 3.0s. Anyone using their Raptor in the dirt ditches the factory 2.5s, because they aren't good enough.

Edit: If you watch the Raptor / Ram Runner head to head video you'll see the difference between 2.5s and 3.0s. With a truck that heavy, the smaller shocks heat up pretty quick.

Could it be remedied easily, yes. Stock for stock (as advertised), this Ram would be at a disadvantage in an off road competition. This isn't Raptor bias, it's what I've seen at events with varying suspension packages.

I highly doubt they would put it into production, too much cost and they already have the rebel. Who knows, maybe they see the hype that the Raptor is generating and know they need to improve the rebel (not to the level of the concept).

Detuned 6.2l Hellcat engine in a monster, heavy, lifted Ram with 37's.... 8 mpg highway.
