Default 2016 Raptor?

http://horsepowerkings.com/sources-2...ight-4600-lbs/

"our sources has mentioned that the next-gen off road beast will weigh at LESS than 4,600 lbs, thanks to an all aluminum body on a steel frame... the outgoing 6.2L will be replaced with a tuned-up EcoBoost 3.5L V6, with an estimated “400+ Horsepower”.

That article is click bait. 1500 lbs weight savings? Really? What, they're running without wheels or an engine? It's baloney. Something designed to drive clicks to the site. I would ignore it, and add that site to the list of Internet garbage sites.

Our local dealer said they were not making Raptors after this year.

It is already confirmed there will be no 2015 Raptor. Question is whether they'll bring it back later.

I'm guessing they'll retire the Raptor and if a new SVT truck is made it will have a different name.

Good luck with that. Never going to happen. Ford will never make a large 2 door SUV ever again. They have moved in the total opposite direction in recent years. It's over!

I don't see why they wouldn't bring the Raptor back eventually, it seemed to sell pretty well for a specialty vehicle. Or maybe they will go the opposite direction and bring back the Lightning with a real street performance model? The Tremor was really a quarter-assed attempt at a performance model.

I recently read about a 2016 Raptor, with a 400 h/p, freako boost. They said it's not certain about the v8. I'm glad I got my 6.2.

My local dealer told me Ford was keeping the 5.4 for a while longer too, 4 months before they announced the new motor line ups. (My fault for not doing enough research)
I wouldn't count on a thing the dealer says. Every time I've been to the dealership I know 2x what the salesman knows about the truck. Never mind what's up coming.
