Question 2015 Tuscany Black Ops or 2014 Raptor (or 2017 Raptor!)

Hi folks-- curious of your opinions on this topic. To give you context, here's what my situation looks like. We currently own:

2015 Explorer Sport (Family hauler)
2010 Jeep Rubicon (Summer hauler, drive-on beach vehicle)
2014 BMW 535i xDrive Diesel (My car)

I'm looking to either trade or sell my BMW for a Black Ops or Raptor. I'm a noob F150 fan and have made this shift because I'm looking for a vehicle that is a bit more practical than my BMW and one that I can throw any variety of gear in the back for beach runs, surf sessions, and general load/unload purposes. My wife's Explorer is the family hauler. Our 2010 Jeep is our summer fun, drive on the beach vehicle.

In the research so far, used 2014 Raptors go for the high 50's to low 60's, give or take a few grand depending on mileage. '15 Black Ops trucks go for the high 60's. And I'm assuming the '17 Raptors will command in the low to mid 70's after all the options.

I did test a Black Ops truck and with the 6" lift, it felt really high but was a great drive at the same time. It would be great to get everyone's opinions based on all the experiences with these trucks. Thanks!

Sell the Jeep get the Raptor. Raptor would be more fun on the beach. Black ops truck is not really worth it in my opinion. Can buy a truck and lift it with all the features for less.

I'm biased but no way would I pay more for a 'black ops' truck than what a Raptor costs. Raptor is the most off road capable 1/2 ton pickup ever built. black ops is a lift kit, a hood and some stickers - and monogramed head rests...

You really want to have some fun, find a decent deal on a Raptor and spend the 20k difference on suspension upgrades.

2017 Raptors should be in the 60s range, optioned out maybe low 70s.

thanks for the replies. there are 2014s out there that look nice that are around 57-59.. really tempted! the 17s i'd imagine with all the options will go into the high 60s or 70s.... lot of coin but worth the wait???

Yeah, I'd get the Raptor. Oh, wait, I did! The Black Ops looks interesting but thats it - its looks.

For me, the Black Ops is tacky looking & ridiculously overpriced. Go with a 13 or 14 Raptor. I've seen many in the mid 50's with 15-25k mileage. Good luck.

I didn't care for the raptor at all, but this is good advice. The Tuscany is just a dressed up regular truck, the raptor is the raptor.

Fwiw my '14 had 7800 miles and it sold in 3 days at 60k. Bone stock.

I'm leaning towards a CPO '14 Raptor but am thinking about the '17 Raptor. If the cost difference is $15-$20K to get into a '17, I may go the practical route and go for a CPO '14. Yep the Black Ops is nice and I do like the way it's outfitted but it's all aesthetic and not a Raptor. Different class. Great replies. Thanks guys!

Talking

I like the look of the Black Ops truck, "alligator eyes" hood and all but . . . .

This puts a smile on my face every time I think about it.
No Regrets.
