No aftermarket CAI will run on your year and motor without the risk of runnin lean. Look into the Gotts mod as you already have a true CAI in the stock intake.

The Enclosed Box on the Roush System is better than most I have seen, but hot air will still get in there and any gain you would get from it isn't worth $300 in my eyes.

Just an example Edge Evo $350 they state 35hp on canned tune for level 3 and you can get more than that if you tweak it yourself, but thats $10 dollars per HP, and the edge has infinite more uses beyond just HP gains. With that Roush system I would bet you won't get more than 10hp and thats if it can do really good at keeping the hot air out, which like I said it looks better than most. But $300 for 10hp is kinda expensive.

A Ram Air hood or Gotts mod is the best intake mod you can do IMHO.

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm a newbie and just bought a 06 f150 5.4 v8. I was wondering what exactly is the gotts mod? Is it some modification you do to your factory intake to get more HP? thanks for the help!

Yes it's a mod to the factory intake. Basically the tube that connects to the air hole in the body is only like 2.5" diameter but you can fit 3" PVC so if you replace it then you get more air.
