it doesnt seem to matter what point of the day my truck does this but 9 times out of 10 it does it when i accelerate or when running about 65 70 mph. it sounds like a loud winding that just wont catch... any remarks??? need help

If you still have the standard Ford air filter system, look for some sort of air leak in the intake system, not exactly a vacuum leak but before the throttle body. Thinking air sucking someplace.

You haven't listed the age so take a look at the PCV system since the vacuum line will crack after time. It runs behind the intake manifold.
