new member needing help with 3v timing issues
i have a 06 f150 5.4 3v that the timing goes funky and engine dies on. It had a constant rattle at idle and would die. checked oil pressure and found it only had 10psi at hot idle. i pulled the motor to replace main and rod bearings. checked clearance when i did that and everything was in spec. Also replaced cam phasers, chains, tensioners, vvt solenoids, oil pump and pickup tube. all parts came from Ford. i now have 30psi oil pressure when fully warmed up but it will still rattle and miss eventually stalling a few times a week. no codes. i am still thinking its in the timing chains. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Hope you replaced lash adjusters
Can't believe it would be timing if you changed out the whole front end , i did it at 165k and it runs good . I had already replaced Vct's and put the updated throttle body on it . I replaced all timing stuff with oem ford.Oil pump melling 360.
I run champion plugs and change them very 50k . I replaced all the injectors at 100k . I have changed some coil packs but not all .
Maybe you have a vaccum leak , intake gaskets etc . I made my own smoke machine for that on my wifes explorer worked great .
Does it run good at speed ? If it isn't throwing codes I would bet vaccum leak .
Then there is that valve device on the intake that i have heard about going bad it changes the air flow in the air intake ,IWE or some thing . Maybe linkage problem .

Injectors are probably good. Replace all COPs and spark plugs. I know @redfishtd had luck with Champion plugs, but I wouldn't recommend based on the sheer number of other users on this forum who have NOT had luck with them. Go with Motorcraft. For COPs, avoid Accels (yellow ones) as they fail constantly. But the cheap Chinese $50 set on Amazon seems to do well for most users on here, including myself.
If that doesn't do anything -
Pull valve covers and check cam shafts, roller rockers, and lash adjusters. Also visually inspect for a possible broken valve spring or evidence of a stuck valve.
And another easy check, drop your spare tire and get a look at your FPDM mounted to either the frame rail or crossmember. Did you change your fuel filter? Checked for clogged cat?
