Wish I could tell you but I never tried. You may be able to spin the torque converter with the engine seized but I'm not sure. You could always drop the tranny

That really sucks man. Never been in your shoes, but you could try to take the oil pan off and pry between the block and crankshaft to break it free if you aren't planning on trying to rebuild the engine. Or if you can't get it off or just want/need better leverage, just pull the engine and trans at the same time and then muscle the crank.

I could be wrong but I don't think it would be easy to pull the tranny out with the engine on our trucks.

It's just as easy/hard as any other RWD vehicle. You just have to tilt the engine backward to allow the transmission to clear the firewall.

The shop that installed your engine should warranty their work... If you paid them to do it you shouldn't have to deal with problems like that on your own

P0325 is for the knock sensor, its located in the valley of the block under the intake manifold that will need to come off. Maybe its un-plugged. It's as easy to change when the intake is out of the way.

stangbang, thanks for all your help through this, without going into a long story about the shop im dealing with, im on my own, they put a 97 block in and used my heads and intake, will the sensor be in the same place on the 97? and should it plug into my wiring harness? just wandering if this could be the problem and they just left it unpluged for that reason or something else

I really can't believe the shop hung you out to dry like that. If it was me and I was counting on someone else's work, I'd look into small claims court.

As to your questions.

The knock sensor is in the valley under the intake on the 4.6 I think, and yes should be a wire that comes in near the back of the block to plug into the knock sensor.
