Default oil pressure flucuating

I have a 94 f-150 5.0 with flucuating oil pressure. About 6 months ago I had to replace the gasket on the timing cover due to coolant leak, a friend of mine came over to help and we decided to change timing chain while we had the cover off. When he installed the lower gear he put it on backwards so when we tried to start the chain broke and teeth broke off the gear. We pulled the cover back off and got all the pieces out of the oil pan then drained the oil. We also changed the sending unit. I am wondering if the sending unit could be bad already and showing the change in pressure or if there could be trash in the pan or what it could be. I drove it to work today and on the way home pressure was good then all of a sudden about 15 min. into the ride home oil pressure dropped to the left edge of the o in normal, usually runs around the r and m. The pressure stayed that way all the home until I made a sharp turn then all of a sudden went back to normal. Just looking for some ideas to check out. Thanks in advance.
