Default error code

I was having a little hesation on my 2001 ford f150 4.6 with 144,000 miles. I got some sea foam spray, and sprayed it into the throttle body to clear out any carbon. I think it may have helped some, however now a couple days later I have the same issue I had before only now it is worse. Truck is labored/jerky when driving down the road. I also now have an error code P0301 (misfire in the #1 cylinder). Can someone tell me what would be my best first thing to do to fix this issue? I have read other posts about this error code, but I have not seen where it was brought on by using sea foam to clean out the throttle body.

Start by taking out the spark plug and see if a piece of carbon is caught in the spark plug gap. Happened to me. Next look closely at the plug boot and connection. No cracks allowed. Try it and if that isn't it try the connection on the injector. If it isn't the connection swap the injector with the one next to it to see if the problem moves.

Thanks for the response. I checked the plug. It was fouled. I am not sure, but it could be OEM. I need to replace all plugs. While I am at it I will also replace COP. I am not sure what I should buy. Can someone tell me which would be the best to buy. Either the complete COP or just the plug boot using my original coils? The truck is running some better, but it is still rough, sluggish at times.

Go to Rock Auto and buy what you need.
