Can anyone tell me about the block on the 5.0 with the defect any details on what went wrong .Where was the engine build at? Did that change the metal on the sleeve for the piston?
I see there are multiple threads on this issue I could see why some would start a new thread, one thread was huge a person would felt lost even posting on the thread.

The main motor man at my dealer is going to work on the timing chain, they gave me a rental. so far I have no issue all is well done !! I will give more details later after I pick it up. I like that I was able to talk to the main motor man who is working on mine.

The dealer looks they fixed my issue of F-150 2011 5.0 engine knock at idle .Then replaced Tensioner Assembly –Timing Chain. I just figured out 2011 was the first year for the 5.0 in F-150
I have to give a shout out to Shawnee Mission Ford for taking care of me!!
Having done my oil changes at the dealer makes is so easy. I can get my oil changed, tire rotation for $38.00 every 5k miles why would anyone not do it for that price? This was big factor so Ford could tell I did the proper care on the engine.

Thats good to here hopefully you dont have any further issues with the motor ,having timing chain and tensioner done at 37,000 miles is super young in an engines life

Did they give you any hint of extending your power train warranty on the motor alone at least? I have a honda crv and honda motor corp just gave me extended coverage to 125,000 miles on it said there are some that have had issues with broken rings and consuming oil even thoe I have never had any issue with mine and it has never been low on oil at all with 60,000 + miles on it still runs great
